The man who practices 1,000 different kicks once, according to Bruce Lee, does not frighten him. The man who had practiced one kick a thousand times was feared by Bruce Lee.
To put it another way, Bruce Lee "feared" mastery, or at least respected it. People who had spent a lot of time practicing and honed their skills were the ones Bruce admired. We can all hope to achieve this, and we should all set our sights on it.
This has to do with the fitness topic known as "greasing the groove." The argument basically states that if you train a movement or pattern every day, it will become more and more ingrained with each attempt. You'll get better at it over time, become faster, stronger, more effective, and more capable.
